From Overwhelm to Liberation: My Journey to Somatic Healing

It’s easy to get caught up in the rush, trying to juggle responsibilities, meeting deadlines, navigating relationship struggles, and attempting to live up to society’s expectations.

I was there once—deep in the chaos. I had pushed myself to the edge, managing everything and everyone until anxiety set in.

Anxiety then evolved into panic attacks, and soon I found myself wrestling with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and Crohn's disease, where every day felt like an uphill battle against my own body.

Internal stress and depression began taking over, and I was left feeling powerless.

I tried conventional therapy, thinking that rehashing my past would bring relief. Instead, talking about my trauma only deepened my pain, triggering flashbacks and setbacks.

The more I dug into the past, the more confused I became about my present. I felt like I was going in circles, reliving trauma without ever feeling truly understood or liberated.

Discovering Healing Through Movement

In the midst of all this, dance and movement emerged as my unexpected saviors which ultimately contributed to my Crohn's going into remission. 🙌🏾🎉🙏🏾

I had no idea about somatic healing back then, but whenever I danced, something within me shifted. I remember choreographing dances with friends, moving our bodies freely, and somehow, in those moments, my body understood the words my voice felt too ashamed to share.

Dance kept my story moving forward, allowing me to process emotions that felt stuck in my soul.

As I later discovered, there’s an incredible connection between movement, the brain, and healing. Our bodies carry unspoken wisdom, capable of guiding us through even the most challenging experiences.

It’s true—our bodies do keep score. And when we listen, they share everything we need to know.

The Birth of the Body Flow Method

Armed with these insights, I created the Body Flow Method as a safe, nurturing way to explore holistic healing. Through my journey, I’ve learned that our brain, mind, and body’s intelligence are far greater than society often acknowledges.

We already have everything we need within us. All it takes is reconnecting with this innate wisdom and letting it lead the way to healing. My clients have discovered this firsthand, reporting increased body connection, relaxation, and a reduction in intrusive thoughts.

The Body Flow Method uses movement to quiet the mind, identify limiting beliefs, and create a new narrative of freedom. It’s a body-first approach to liberation, a way to eliminate the mind chatter and let your true self emerge. If you’re ready to feel limitless, I’d love for you to join me.
